What is
Read Ready Covington?

Read Ready Covington is a city-wide early literacy initiative that unites families, schools, and local partners like the City of Covington and Covington Public Schools. We provide universal access to resources and fun, real-world activities for children from birth to age five, ensuring every child arrives at kindergarten ready to learn.

Universal Supports

We offer essential, foundational resources for all families, including free book subscriptions, library cards, parenting tips, and digital learning tools for early brain development

COMMUNITY-LED EVENTS

We host fun, free, and engaging local activities to encourage learning, including story times, music and movement, and pop-up learning spaces.

We connect families with specialized, high-impact developmental and home learning programs like Every Child Succeeds and First Steps for children from prenatal care through age five.

  • Yes! Thanks to our partnership with your city, there is absolutely no cost to you. No subscriptions, no hidden fees.

  • Only for the initial registration and to download the content. Once the books and games are on your device, you can use them offline anywhere.

  • Absolutely! All of our digital resources are fully bilingual in English and Spanish. You can switch between languages with the touch of a button.

  • We recommend just 15-20 minutes a day. Consistent, short sessions are a powerful way to build skills and confidence without too much screen time.
